In the story Henni is frequently writing letters to God asking for his help with certain matters like when Old Aunt Lillie went to heaven and she asked God to give her a good spot p.
I wanted to write about kids who were open and robust, ingenious, tenacious and funny. The Phonies are criticised for responding formally with a complaint of their next door neighbours. And a happy ending, not in a Disneyland way, an Australian way. This quote makes the Phonies look like unreasonable people.
